Duvian's People

Nation Building

Norwalk was settled as an agricultural community.

Early settlers were attracted to Norwalk's rivers and shoreline as a fertile area for growing crops and harvesting clams and oysters.

The colonial period saw Norwalk build on its natural harbor and develop a trading port for its agricultural products.

Waterways were the reason Norwalk was founded, but its growth came from roads and rails.
