Two Trolley Lines competed in Norwalk.

It was a race to electrify, while the Red Line Trolley system was relying on horse power, the White Line Trolley Company electrified its trolleys in 1892. The Red Line Trolley ran from Westport to Roton Point, and extended service from Roton Point to Stamford.

But, by July of 1933, The Connecticut Company was granted the rights to rip up the trolley lines between Norwalk and Stamford and introduce a bus service, singalling the end of the line for trolleys.
